Frequently Asked Questions
What are carbon credits?

1 carbon credit = 1 ton of carbon (CO2). Governments, organizations and individuals can buy carbon credits (tons of carbon) on the carbon market. Carbon credits are generated by organizations that lead carbon projects, such as clean cooking or reforestation projects.

What makes BURN stoves unique?

BURN’s clean cookstoves are fuel-efficient, which means that they use less fuel for the same result. Specifically, with our Kunikoa woodstove, you use 71% less wood than open fires.

How can clean cookstoves reduce carbon emissions?

By using BURN’s clean cookstove, you will use less fuel (wood, charcoal, electricity, etc) and hence reduce carbon emissions. For example, if you use less wood, forests will be saved, and they will absorb more carbon emissions from the atmosphere. BURN generates avoided carbon credits.

Why should I support BURN carbon projects?

When an organization, a government or an individual generates carbon emissions, they pollute and contribute to global warming. To offset their carbon footprint, they can buy carbon credits (tons of carbon).
